Membership of Sunshine Coast Reconciliation Group Incorporated involves making a commitment to the objectives of SCRGI. These objects are aligned with Reconciliation Australia and Reconciliation Qld Inc of which SCRGI has group membership.
OBJECTIVES
Our objectives are to promote a better understanding and acceptance of reconciliation between Australia’s Traditional Owners – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – and other Australians through engagement and participation. We achieve this through our events and projects.
Here are some of our achievements to date:
- Seeking cultural sharing from Australia’s First Nations people
- Shared history truth-telling seminars
- Annual Aunty Betty Memorial Reconciliation Walk
- Satchel of goods distribution to remote communities
- Participation at and support of community events
- Reconciliation Week activities
- NAIDOC Week activities
SCRGI objectives are achieved by seeking reconciliation through:
- Truth-telling
- Respect
- Recognition
- Listening
- Discussion
- Facilitating opportunities
- Empowerment
- Monitoring progress
MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
Membership for individuals is free of charge and for organisations it is $20 per annum. We encourage individuals to donate in lieu of a membership fee to the following account (please note we are not a registered charity, therefore donations are not tax-deductible). You can donate here via PayPal

Membership expires on 30th June each year. Membership should be renewed to keep SCRGI membership current and contact details up-to-date. New membership must be approved by the committee.
SCRGI has a management committee which meets monthly. Current membership allows you to join the management committee. Please note that SCRGI holds public liability insurance.
