Background:
David Hollinsworth is a widely respected scholar and long-standing advocate in the field of Stolen Generations history and justice. Since 1968, he has worked alongside Aboriginal communities as both an activist and academic. He has taught Aboriginal Studies for decades and is currently Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
He has also served as an anti-racism consultant to governments and Aboriginal organisations and is Co-Chair of the Stolen Generations Alliance.
David’s life’s work has centred on the history of the Stolen Generations and the enduring, intergenerational impacts of government child removal policies.
We are deeply honoured that he has gifted a significant portion of his personal library to SCRGI.
This collection includes historically important titles and powerful works on First Nations history — many written by First Nations authors themselves. It is a rich and thoughtful resource for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of Australia’s truth-telling journey.
